GambleAware Legal Education and Engagement Program appointed
The Office of Responsible Gambling has appointed the Association of Children’s Welfare Agencies, in partnership with Connect Consulting, to deliver the state wide GambleAware Legal Education and Engagement Program.
The GambleAware Legal Education and Engagement Program will educate GambleAware providers about common legal issues faced by people experiencing gambling harm, how to navigate the legal system to support and refer their clients and to establish relationships with legal providers in their region.
The Program will also raise awareness amongst local legal providers such as Legal Aid, community legal centres and law firms across NSW about gambling harm and the range of legal issues that may arise for people experiencing gambling harm.
The Association of Children’s Welfare Agencies, through its training arm the Centre of Community Welfare Training (CCWT) has many years of experience in delivering training opportunities for the community welfare sector in NSW. Combined with the community engagement expertise brought by its partner Connect Consulting and their experience in rolling out similar programs, the GambleAware Legal Education and Engagement Program is ready to hit the ground running.
