The Office of Responsible Gambling has rolled out the pilot of Odds on Youth, a capacity building program for youth workers to reduce gambling harm. The pilot is being run with support from Inner West Council. The first workshop was held at Ashfield Services Centre on 2 and 3 September.

On the second day they visited the Gambling Treatment & Research Centre at the University of Sydney where they learnt about different treatments clinic staff use as well as some of their research work. The evaluations from the participants were very positive with one participant commenting:
“Thoroughly enjoyed all the guest speakers and hearing from service workers regarding the growing impact of gambling. Thank you for your efforts.”
Participating organisations are now able to apply for a grant to implement a gambling harm intervention within their services.
