Request for Proposals now open for GambleAware Multicultural Service

The opportunity

The Office of Responsible Gambling is seeking to fund a GambleAware Multicultural Service to support cultural capability development of our GambleAware Providers across the 10 regions in NSW and to deliver culturally responsive gambling and financial counselling services in multiple community languages. The RFP opened on 5 July 2021 and will close on 13 August 2021 2:00pm.

The GambleAware Multicultural Service is a statewide service that will work in collaboration with GambleAware Providers and the Office of Responsible Gambling to embed culturally responsive practice in all aspects of GambleAware service planning and delivery. It will champion GambleAware at a state level to promote cross-sectoral collaboration to minimise gambling harm in the culturally, linguistically and religiously diverse communities.

Another key service element is the delivery of gambling and financial counselling services in multiple community languages. This involves assessing the demand for language and culturally specific support and establishing options and pathways for clients and communities from diverse background especially those from new and emerging communities to access culturally safe and competent support, in partnership with the GambleAware Providers across NSW.
