Professional support for young people

You’re welcome to contact any of the support services below. It could be to talk about your own gambling, or if you’re concerned about a family member or friend and want to support them.

Someone’s always here for you. GambleAware counsellors are available over the phone right now to offer help or connect kids, under 25s, parents and carers with the most appropriate service. For free, confidential advice and support, call GambleAware on 24/7.

And there are other dedicated services where kids and carers can go for specialised, personal advice.

Kids Helpline is a free (even from a mobile), confidential 24/7 online and phone counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25. Qualified counsellors are available via Web Chat, phone or email anytime and for any reason.

headspace.org.au

There are headspace centres all over NSW where young people 12 to 25 and their families and friends can get support. Then there’s e-headspace, which provides free online and telephone support and counselling. If you’re going through a tough time with gaming or gambling-related issues, headspace could help.

ReachOut is an online youth mental health service for under 25s. Go there to find fact sheets, stories, videos, guides, tools, apps and a community forum.

Kids, under 25s and parents can all visit the eSafety website to find out more about the ups and downs of online gaming.
